ABOUT THE PROGRAM

For those wishing to work as psychologists, this program provides a practical introduction to professional psychological skills.

 

The Postgraduate Diploma is a two semester full-time course, or the equivalent part-time, comprising coursework subjects including a minor thesis. Applicants must have completed an APS (Australian Psychological Society) accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology and will be assessed on academic competence and personal suitability for training as a psychologist.

 

Overseas applicants should confirm the equivalence of their undergraduate studies with the Australian Psychological Society by writing to: Director of Membership, APS, PO Box 126, Carlton South, VIC 3053

 

Course Requirements
To fulfil the requirements of the course, Diploma students would normally complete the following:

PSYC71-400  Research Seminar 1
PSYC72-420  Research Seminar 2
PSYC71-409  Multivariate Research Methods

plus four subjects selected from the following:

PSYC71-403  Assessment and Diagnosis
PSYC71-404  Clinical Psychology
PSYC71-405  Community & Health Psychology
PSYC71-406  Counselling Psychology
PSYC71-407  Forensic Psychology
PSYC71-408  Neuropsychology
PSYC71-411  Organisational & Industrial Psychology
PSYC71-412  Vocational Psychology, or other approved elective
