INSTITUT UNIVERSITAIRE KURT BÖSCH (IUKB)
The Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch (IUKB) was
officially recognized by the Swiss Confederation as a University
Institute in 1992 in accordance with Article 2 of the Law on Aid for
Universities (LAU). Through its postgraduate and continuing education
programmes and its research projects, the Institute carries out inter-
and transdisciplinarity exchanges for the study of the social,
environmental and cultural characteristics of our society. The IUKB’s
aim is to help break down academic compartmentalisation and transcend
the existing divides between the scientific and practical worlds.
Recognized by the Swiss Government
In Switzerland, the Universities and the University Institutes placed
under the responsibilities of the cantons, are given a federal
recognition. The Swiss Government granted this recognition to the IUKB
in November, 1992.
