TOLES is an accurate method of assessing an
individual's legal English.
The TOLES exam has been developed by legal professionals
with expertise in English language training. It is the result of

The test allows lawyers and law students to prove
their ability to cope with everyday, practical tasks in English
when working in a legal office or studying in the law faculty of
a UK or US University.
The language and terminology tested by TOLES reflect

How is TOLES graded?
The test is marked out of a maximum 500 points.
A coloured grading scale is used
to indicate the level of a candidate's achievement.
The exam can be retaken after a minimum of 6 months
in an attempt to improve their score.
