Funding Sources for International Students
There are very few funding sources for
International Students, and those that exist are very restricted. The
British Council produce a leaflet calles "studying in the UK"
which provides more information on this subject. See UKCOSA (the Council
for International Education) http://www.ukcosa.org.uk
and British Council http://www.britishcouncil.org
websites for more details .

Living
Costs

|
These
depend upon the level and duration of your course. In addition to
tuition fees you should allow a minimum of £4,400 (£5,300 for taught
Master) to cover the cost of such things as accommodation (including
hall fees), food, laundry, books and every day needs, but this does not

Scholarships
for International Students -
|
|
Each
year Writtle College awards a limited number of scholarships to new
non-EU applicants to help them to take up their places of undergraduate
study at the College. The value of each scholarship varies from £1,000
to up to 50% of the tuition fees for each year of the programme
studied. Applications will not be considered unless students
provide sound evidence that they are able to finance the remaining costs
(balance of tuition fees, accommodation and living, books, airfares,
etc).
|
|
Applicants
must submit an 800 word statement outlining why they are applying for a
particular course, their educational background, personal details and
financial means. Please be aware that the College receives a
great number of applications, applicants should not rely on a
scholarship when making their application.
|
|
|
Because
the College receives a great many applications for these limited number
of scholarships, priority will be given to those who:
|
 |
Have appropriate
qualifications and intellectual ability to succeed on the course
of study |
 |
Can demonstrate
commitment and motivation for their chosen programme at Writtle
College |
 |
Demonstrate how
they plan to make a difference to their community / career after
the course |
 |
Whilst
demonstrating financial hardship, can still show alternative means
of financing themselves for the balance of fees and for other
costs. |
 |
Are
considered to have the most deserving circumstances |
