Accommodations

Room at Student HallLiving in Halls of Residence

There are just over 400 places in halls on the main campus, minutes away from teaching areas, the
library and most of the eating facilities.

All halls are mixed accommodation, and most are non-smoking, but some halls are available for students who smoke.

Every hall has a key card security access system in addition to the individual room lock.

The fee for students living on campus includes a catering allowance equivalent to 10 meals per week (excluding holiday periods) in the Writz Restaurant or the Watering Hole. Most students tend to have two meals a day, but you can eat at any time during the week and at weekends.

Facilities

All halls are furnished and centrally heated, with kitchen/common room areas, but washroom facilities vary from one hall to another.

The kitchens consist of a hot plate, microwave cooker, fridge, toaster and electric kettle. Students will need to bring their own crockery, saucepans etc.

No bedding is supplied, but it can be hired for a small charge.

Accommodation Policy

After 1st September, any room still available will be allocated on a ‘first come – first served’ basis.

All places in hall must be contracted for the residential session (39 weeks), except where a Post Graduate programme at Writtle is for a shorter period.
