Who Should Take This Course:
Students and professionals with a low-advanced or better level of English who are interested in improving their English language proficiency while receiving an introduction to or review of the US legal system.
Participants generally include law students and practicing attorneys as well as reporters, or business professionals. However, the program welcomes any advanced non-native speaker interested both in improving English skills and in gaining a better understanding of American law.
This course is open to Core 108 and higher level students.

However, students
must have 4-6 months of previous legal studies
or law-related work experience to be admitted into this program.

What this course includes: This twenty-five-hour-per-week program features the following two courses for Legal English students only. These classes are taught by highly skilled and experienced English instructors with a Master’s in Linguistics or TESL. The instructor, who has a keen interest in law, will also coordinate field trips and expert guest lecturers.
