General Admission Policy

Please review the required items for admission that are listed below. We must receive these required items or documents before we can review your application for admission to Oklahoma City University (OCU). If you have already sent all of the required items, please ignore this message. If you have sent only some of the items, please send the other required items on the list.

Note: We will accept copies of required documents for review for admission. HOWEVER, Originals or certified copies must be received by OCU before a SEVIS I-20 will be sent to you. The original documents or certified copies must be received by OCU before or at the time of your enrollment before you will be permitted to enroll - no exceptions are granted for this requirement.

Because of new U.S. Department of Justice requirements, it is important that the spelling of your name matches your passport, your OCU Admission Letter and the U.S. Department of Justice SEVIS Form I-20. If the spelling of your name matches, this will avoid needless immigration delays or problems for you.

If you have additional questions, please e-mail us here at International Admissions (iso@okcu.edu) and we will do our best to answer your questions. Please note that some details show in this document may change at a later date. Please refer to the Oklahoma City web site for the most recent changes.

The evaluation process requires one to two weeks. Please allow time for mailing. The normal mailing time is about 10 days. We offer rolling admissions all throughout the year.

Again, thank you for your interest in Oklahoma City University.

You must submit ALL of the following items or documents listed below to Oklahoma City University for admission- unless waived by special official notice:

This statement must be an official statement from your bank (translated to English) showing sufficient funds to cover the needed amount shown above.

4. English proficiency requirement (TOEFL, ELS, or I.E.L.T.S.): This requirement does not apply to students who can show successful course completions on a transcript for TWO fall or spring terms or semesters from a recognized English speaking school. 5. For MBA only: NEW REQUIREMENT beginning Fall 2007 term: Your admission is conditional for GMAT score. All MBA students are required to submit a GMAT score. The score requirement will vary depending on your final undergraduate GPA. Oklahoma City University uses the following formula to determine whether you meet the minimum “calculated” score required: To calculate your needed GMAT score use the following formula:
((950 - (your GPA x 200)) = GMAT score required to meet the GMAT calculated score requirement.

6. A non-refundable application fee of US $70.00 made payable to Oklahoma City University. (See instructions for payment at below)

7. Two letters of recommendation (for graduate applicants only).

8. If you are a transfer student from another university in the United States, please provide us with a Good Standing Letter for the current semester or term signed by your foreign student advisor.

9. If you feel a personal statement may help us in evaluating your application, you may include it with the other materials. A personal statement should tell us something about your background and your future aspirations, particularly in relation to your studies.

10. Work experience is not a requirement for admission.
